  Worst DMV in Creation - that Includes Hell! Yes, it's a DMV, so it's slow and the staff is made up of drones who are burnt out cogs in a people munching machine; unfortunately, that's how working for the government looks the vast majority of the time (unless you are high enough up the corruption ladder to buy you and your family positions of import - Parish President Matassa, I'm looking at you). We know DMVs are bad, so why are there so many horrible reviews for this location when the standard is already lower than an Alabama fan's IQ? I'll tell you why: not only are the workers horribly negligent, they are also trained to steal from our fair citizens. I bought a SUV several years ago in Ohio, paid the sales tax there (4%), then registered my new vehicle in my hometown of Gonzales expecting to pay the additional 4.5% at my local DMV per the law. Safe to say, I was utterly stunned when (after three visits to this Trap House and two conversations with employees - including one manager) they expected me to pay the full sales tax of 8.5% to the state of Louisiana as if I had never paid the original 4% in Ohio. The difference was about $1,000. I knew the law and was not budging. They knew how they ripped people off all day and had no plans or reason to change their process. So, we were at a stand still. Now, I will say, I don't think the people at this DMV knew the actual law, not even the manager. I think they were merely following marching orders from somewhere high above their pay grade. Nevertheless, I had to go to the DMV headquarters in Baton Rouge to get this all straighten out. I ended up paying exactly what I was supposed to according to the law and registered my SUV after over a year of stupidity and attempted theft. All of this begs the question: where would my money have gone if the state didn't require it? Into the well lined pockets of our ridiculously unjust political machine, I readily and rightly suppose. I will never, ever set foot in that hell hole again.

  Can i say they were slower than dirt!!! they dont make any effort to process people anywhere close to quickly. Why do we have government that works against people instead of for them. this is what our tax doars support.

  Worst experience ever. Went here twice in one day (overall 3 hours) and still never got what I needed.
